Karate Canada announces host cities for 2013-2017 events

 

Montreal, October 12, 2015 – Karate Canada has officially announced that Richmond, British-Columbia, will host the Karate Canada National Championships from 2014 to 2017. The 2010 Vancouver Winter Games’ Olympic Oval, now converted into a multi-sports center, will also be hosting two karate North American Cups which will both be held in March 2014 and 2017.

“We received a dozen proposals from different cities and have selected Richmond. The venue is exceptionally adequate and our partnership with both the city and the tourism bureau will allow us to be more efficient while optimizing our financial and human resources”, declares Rébecca Khoury, Karate Canada’s President.

In addition to these announcements, Karate Canada also indicated that Toronto will be the host of the Senior and Junior National Training Camps as well as the Annual General Meetings & Summits from 2013 to 2017.

The next major event on the Karate Canada calendar will be the Karate Canada National Championships which will be held in Toronto in March 2013. In October 2013, the city of Montreal will welcome the Commonwealth Karate Championships where close to 1,000 participants are expected.
