Sport Events Congress

Canada’s largest annual gathering of sport, tourism professionals and event management firms, Sport Events Congress attracts over 300 delegates each year. Held in the month of April, Sport Events Congress’ flagship element is the popular Sport Events Exchange, a business-to-business events marketplace where events rights holders have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with municipal representatives interested in hosting events in their communities.

2012 Sport Events Congress

The 2012 Sport Events Congress will be held in Richmond, British Columbia from April 18th to 20th.  Richmond was one of nine Canadian cities that bid to host the Congress.  Richmond beat out Windsor, Ontario and Laval, Quebec who were 2nd and 3rd respectively in a rigorous bid evaluation process conducted by a selection committee steered by CSTA.

Sport Events Congress 2012 will be held at the River Rock Casino Resort, a sophisticated and relaxing AAA Four Diamond rated resort located in the heart of Richmond only minutes away from the Vancouver International Airport, the Canada Line transit system and the US border.   In addition, selected Congress events will be held at the Richmond Oval, a world class facility that was home to long track speed skating during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and now offers over 47,500 square metres of meeting rooms, sport courts, reception areas, and outdoor spaces in a breathtaking setting along the banks of the Fraser River.  More details about SEC 2012 are noted below.
